GREAT NOLLYWOOD MOVIES YOU NEVER SAW 1- TONNIE FISHBRAIN

Tonnie Fishbrain
I know you all are fans of Nollywood and you pride yourselves on the fact that you know most of the best films. But i bet, there are several you have never heard of before that will literarily blow you to smitherens. Recently i set out to look for all the movie gems that have been shrouded and hidden by age, time and lack of promotion and i discovered that Nollywood, could have had a better rating from way back if we had the opportunity of seeing all these movies. This also brings us to the way submissions are done for the AMAA awards. Maybe the academy should start rethinking the submission guidlines. It probably behoves on them to go out and acquire all the movies that is censored every year so that we can have the opportunity of seeing all the good movies.

TONNIE FISHBRAIN.

The first film I discovered, is a little known movie called TONNIE FISHBRAIN. A production of CFI PRODUCTIONS. It was shot in 2008, and was directed by inimitable Reginald Ebere. We all agree that he really does make good movies when he decides to work which is not very often.
We did a little research and found out that this movie had an entire cast and crew that were complete green horns in the art of movie making but the movie turned out to be a thrilling action and suspense filled work of art. Shot on locations in Uzoakoli and Umuahia Abia State, Enugu, Enugu State, Awka, Anambra State and Abuja, the Federal capital, it was written by Amaechi Udeaku and had people like Uzor Arukwe who we found out has also played in other movies like TRUE PASSION where he stared opposite Oge Okoye, Chika Ike and Jibola Dabo. In a starring role also is Obinna Okochi, better known as Obi Shine(gospel musician). These neophyte actors put together a movie that has probably the best action hand to hand combat sequences I ever saw in a Nollywood movie. The movie which is also partly a musical tells the story of a young boy who was derided all his life for being slow witted but finally made good after going to prison. He came out of prison and became an international music star. We cannot praise the movie enough. It probably has the best music score and soundtrack we have also ever heard from a Nollywood Movie and the last sequences saw the likes of Buchi, Iyk Onka, Samsong and Obi Shine performing life on stage. If you are looking for a movie that will bring the tears to your eyes, some laughter to your lips, some adrenalin rushing through your system and some green Nigerian pride coursing through your heart then look for this movie. In point of fact i felt proud being a Nigerian when i saw a group of Nigerian prisoners in prison fatiques singing the National anthem.
You can watch the movie on this youtube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IusMjtxJew0
