OC UKEJE AND RITA DOMINIC WIN BEST ACTOR AND ACTRESS AT THE NOLLYWOOD MOVIES AWARDS

Nollywood acts, O.C Ukeje and Rita Dominic have emerged Best Actor and Best Actress respectively at the just concluded Nollywood Movie Awards that held on Saturday, October 12, 2013.

While the awards serves as the third for the AMBO star in three different awards ceremony, Rita is clinging her first title as the best actress for her role in The Meeting.

O.C emerged Best Actor at the AMVCAs, NEAs and now the NMAs.

Other winners include Funke Akindele, who won the best indigenous act with her role in Tunde Kelani’s Maami. See full list of winners below.....

MERCY JOHNSON, RITA DOMINIC, OSSY UKEJE, OBI EMELONYE, CHIDI CHIKERE AND OTHERS NOMINATED FOR NOLLYWOOD MOVIES AWARD 2013

AHEAD of this year’s Nollywood Movies Award (NMA), organizers have released the list of nominees who will go head to head for honour at the award ceremony billed for October. The Nominees party held at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, attracted notable movie stars and practitioners in the country’s motion picture industry.

   Notable among guests presents are Segun Arinze, Bimbo Akintola, Joseph Benjamin, Chika Ike, Ashionye Raccar, Omoni Oboli, Susan Peters, Fidelis Duker, Kingsley Ogoro, Obi Emelonye, Ossy Ukaeje, Charles Novia, Julius Agwu and others.

    The Best Movie category has Hoodrush, Journey To Self, The Meeting, Phone Swap, Udeme Mmi and Mrs Somebody, while Bayo Alawiye (The Gods Are Still Not To Blame), Gabriel Afolayan (First Cause), Iyke Adiele (Broken), Ossy Ukeje (Hoodrush) Moses Armstrong (Udeme Mmi) and Wale Ojo (Phone Swap) will battle for Best Lead Actor. The Best Lead Actress category has Rita Dominic (The Meeting) Nse Ikpe-Etim (Mr & Mrs), Mercy Johnson (Dumebi), Funke Akindele (Ma’ami), Bimbo Akintola (Hoodrush), Uche Jombo (Mrs Somebody).

    For the Best Supporting Actor, Imeh Bishop Udoh, Akin Lewis, Bimbo Manuel, Gabriel Afolayan, Afeez Oyetoro, Bob Manuel will slug it out, while Ngozi Ezeonu, Barbara Soky, Ada Ameh, Chelsea Eze and Mary Chukwu are up for Best Supporting Actress. Best Actor Indigenous category has Ekere Nkanga (Kokomma), Wole Ojo (Maa’mi), Segun ‘Lanko’ Ogunremi (Odasan) and Imeh Bishop Udoh (Udeme Mmi)
