Nollywood Director Lancelot Imasuen to compete with Jackie Chan at the Abuja International Film Festival
Nigeria's Nollywood Director, Lancelot Imasuen and Chinese actor, Jackie Chan will compete for awards at the 11th Abuja International Film Festival scheduled to run from September 23 through 26, 2014 in Abuja.
Imasuen and the Jackie Chan presently lead the pack with their movies, 'Invasion 1987' and 'Chinese Zodiac' respectively and are expected to compete in at least four categories at the festival.
According to PUNCH, 'both films are epics with a similar historical thread running through them. They will be shown to guests during the opening and closing ceremonies of the festival at the Silverbird Cinemas in the FCT.'
Invasion 1897 is an epic film that calls attention to the controversy surrounding the existence of ancient Benin artifacts, believed to have been stolen during the invasion of the Benin Empire by the British in 1897, in museums scattered around the world while 'Chinese Zodiac' has been described as the third highest grossing indigenous film in China.
Who do you think will pick the award at the AIFF?
