The African Movie Academy Awards AMAA, held on Saturday in
Bayelsa State. The entire state was brought to a halt as movie stars, the
gliterrati and film business moguls gathered to celebrate the African Movie
Industry in the 9th edition if the awards which unarguably is also the best so
far. The late Nolywood legend Justus Esiri won the Best Actor in a Leading Role
with his portrayal in the film THE ASSASINS PRACTICE. Also at the podium to
collect her award as THE BEST PROMISING ACTOR was beautiful Belinda Effah for her
role in the movie KOKONMA.
The award sprang plenty of surprises as movies that hitherto
had not even been in the frame to win awards dominated. Best Film went to the
Nigerian film CONFUSION NA WA Below is a
