It looks like Nollywood actors are beginning to toe the line
that their foreign counterparts have followed for years now. During the
flooding incidents last year. Chinedu Ikedieze (AKI) and Osita Iheme (PawPaw)
visited the camps of victims of the flood incidents in Anambra and Delta
States, bringing succour to the afflicted peoples of those areas. They took
along food, clothing items and money to alleviate the sufferings of people. The
Aneke twins Chidinma and Chidiebere also celebrated their birthday with
Motherless babies in Lagos recently.
Nollywood hunk Vicent Opurum looks to have joined the trend
as he paid an unscheduled visit to a motherless babies home, Destiny Orphanage
in Jos Plateau State.
Reports published in the Vanguard newspapers states that the
star actor expressed the desire to have the priviledged see to the
constant welfare of orphans in the country.
Moved by the plight of children who have been made orphans
due to the on-going crisis in the state. He said that it is regrettable that
the people of the state have continued to live in fear and the children have
continued to suffer.
Let’s just hope that other celebrities will join this philanthropic
effort and share out some of their immense wealth with the less privileged in
our society. Well done Vincent.
